Privacy Policy

AutoFactory Audio ("AutoFactory", "we", "us") builds audio software for music producers and engineers, and operates the website at autofactory.ai. This policy explains what data we handle, why, and your rights over it. Questions: hello@autofactory.ai.

Information we collect

Contact details you give us. If you join a waitlist or request a download, we store the email address and the source of the request.
Basic usage data. Aggregate, non-identifying page and download metrics (e.g. referrer, counts) to understand interest in our tools.
Social-platform authorisation data. When we connect one of our own social-media accounts to our self-hosted publishing tool, the platform issues us authorisation tokens and basic profile information (e.g. account id, display name, avatar). See the section below.

Connected social-media platforms

We use a self-hosted scheduling tool to publish our own marketing content to social platforms we control, including X, Bluesky, YouTube and TikTok. To do this we authorise the relevant platform's API. In that process:

We access basic profile information for the connected account and the permission to publish or upload content to that same account.
Access and refresh tokens are stored securely on our own server and are used only to publish content we create.
We do not collect data about other users, sell or share platform data, use it for advertising, or use it for any purpose other than publishing our own content.
Data obtained from a platform is used in accordance with that platform's developer terms and policies, including the TikTok Developer Terms and the Google API Services User Data Policy where applicable.

How we use data

To send you the downloads or updates you asked for.
To publish and schedule our own content to our own social accounts.
To understand, in aggregate, which tools people want us to build.

Legal basis for processing (UK/EU GDPR)

Consent — for marketing emails / newsletter. You opt in, and you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email or by emailing us. We don't email you marketing without it.
Performance of a contract / your request — to deliver a download or update you specifically asked for.
Legitimate interests — for aggregate, non-identifying analytics to understand interest in our tools, and to operate and secure the site. We balance this against your rights and use the minimum data needed.

Data controller

The data controller is Autofactory Technologies Ltd, trading as AutoFactory Audio. Contact hello@autofactory.ai. As we are establishing in Cyprus (EU), an Article 27 EU representative is not required; this section will name one if that position changes.

Sharing

We don't sell your data. We use a small number of service providers (e.g. email delivery, payment/merchant-of-record, and hosting) strictly to operate the above, bound to handle data only on our instructions.

Retention & your rights

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above. You can ask us to access or delete your data, or withdraw consent, at any time by emailing hello@autofactory.ai. Social-platform authorisations can be revoked by us at any time, and by you within the platform's own settings.
