Mix Problem

problem

Why should you meter after the final limiter?

The last processor determines what actually leaves the master chain.

Pre-limiter readings are not the delivery signal

A meter before the final limiter shows what enters the limiter, not the final ceiling, loudness, or true-peak behavior.

Limiter release, oversampling, output ceiling, and downstream processing can all change what the exported file will contain.

Put the final meter last

Place a meter after the limiter and any final utility plugin so integrated loudness, true peak, and overs represent the actual master output.

Check the loudest chorus, dense transitions, and fades where release behavior can create unexpected movement.

Confirm the chain before export

Avoid adding gain, normalization, or format conversion after the meter unless you plan to re-check the result.

Meter Core can sit at the end of the chain as the final quality-control view before rendering.
